This commitment to eco-friendly practices was recently recognised with the hotel winning the Excellence in Sustainability Award at the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce Awards 2025, reaffirming the hotel’s dedication to embedding sustainability initiatives into its operations.

Owned by University of Birmingham, Edgbaston Park Hotel aligns closely with the university’s own commitment to sustainable practices. The hotel’s latest initiatives cater to the evolving needs of conference and event organisers, offering state-of-the-art facilities and environmentally responsible solutions without compromising on quality or experience.

The Green Meetings Package provides a forward-thinking approach to sustainable conferences and events, enabling event organisers to host impactful events while minimising environmental impact. This package includes low-carbon menus, with every dish carbon A-rated, making it easy to identify those with the lightest footprint. The menus have been carefully curated using fresh British ingredients, and delegates can enjoy ethically sourced coffee and tea from UK-based Paddy & Scott’s and family-owned Birchall, both of which are committed to supporting growers, their communities, and prioritising sustainability in their products and packaging.

Beyond the Green Meetings Package, the hotel has introduced carbon ratings across its restaurant and bar menus. This allows guests to make informed dining choices by scanning a QR code on the menus to instantly access information on allergens, calories, sugars, fats, and carbon footprints of each dish. This initiative supports the hotel’s mission to encourage conscious consumption while offering great dining choices for everyone.
