Introducing France’s Newest Boutique MICE Destination

Introducing France’s Newest Boutique MICE Destination

Concealed for decades from even the most curiously inclined, Chateau de Mortefontaine is opening its doors to the UK MICE market for the first time.

Located 90 minutes from London, 15 minutes from Charles de Gaulle airport and 40 minutes from the Eiffel Tower, the castle is ideally positioned for groups seeking a unique venue, where nature and historic beauty come together.

Once a part of Napoleon Bonaparte's family estate, Chateau de Mortefontaine has been at the centre of European history. Hosting the likes of Lafayette, Chopin, Desiree Clary - Queen of Sweden, Gerard de Nerval, and the painter Corot.

Due to its idyllic setting and positioning - close to Paris but away from prying eyes, Napoleon Bonaparte declared the Chateau as the perfect location for diplomatic negotiations. Durably marking history when Napoleon hosted the signing of the French, American alliance, also known as the Treaty of Mortefontaine and the peace preliminaries with Austria, before the signing of Lunéville in 1801 at the Chateau.

It was also in this very rural and enchanting venue that the marriages of Napoleon’s sisters took place. In 1800, Caroline wed General Murat and Pauline, Napoleon’s favourite sister, wed the Italian Prince Camille Borghese in 1803. You can still find paintings of the family around the Chateau.

For a truly unforgettable French heritage experience, we invite you to host your guests as Napoleon did. From full day conferences under the spectacular opulence of the Grand Ballroom chandeliers to private dinners in the magnificent dining room or escaping the hustle and bustle for your corporate retreat. Let your guests bask in the tranquillity of the space, to rejuvenate, be creative and learn from one another.

It was Joseph Bonaparte himself who once said, ‘Mortefontaine is a place of peace and innocence.’
