80 delegates, one shared rhythm: Inspire-works at the PA Show Summit

Inspire-works brought an immersive musical experience to the PA Show Summit at Down Hall Hotel & Spa, leading all 92 delegates in a pre-dinner drumming session on Monday 12 October.

Alongside its client meetings at the two-day event, the company stepped into a different role for the evening: inviting the entire delegate group to make music together. The session was designed to bring fresh energy to the transition between the daytime programme and dinner, with participation at the heart of the experience.

For an event built around relationships, shared drumming offers a natural meeting point. Everyone has a part to play, and the focus is on listening, responding and contributing to something together. It is a simple idea with particular relevance to the PAs, EAs and executive support professionals whose work involves bringing people together every day.

The session also offered delegates a practical introduction to an activity they could consider for their own corporate events. Choosing an experience for colleagues or clients involves imagining how it will work in the room. Taking part gives organisers a direct sense of the format, the facilitation and the role it could play within a wider programme.

Inspire-works creates participatory experiences using rhythm, music and movement, with corporate formats including conference openers, energisers and immersive drumming. Its international team has worked with more than one million workshop participants, and the company holds two Guinness World Records: the Largest Drumming Lesson and the Largest Samba Band.

At the Summit, the pre-dinner setting provided the opportunity to bring the whole delegate group together around a shared activity. It complemented the individual conversations taking place through client meetings and reflected the event’s emphasis on connection.

For anyone planning a conference, team gathering or company celebration, the invitation is straightforward: give people something they can create together. A shared rhythm can become the starting point for a conversation, a moment of collaboration or a memorable part of the occasion.
