SecsintheCity have launched a new category at the 2024 PA of the Year Awards. Business Support Manager of the Year aims to recognise those who manage a team of PAs, EAs and support professionals including PA Team Leaders, EA Managers, Administrative Support Managers and Chief of Staff. This role is critical in many large organisations, leading and developing a high-performing business support team covering a wide range of functions.

It’s free to enter and all finalists will be invited to a celebration evening at The Ivy. Deserving PA of the Year Award winners don’t necessarily need a boss or colleague to make a nomination on their behalf. At SecsintheCity, we strongly believe in the importance of knowing your self-worth and celebrating your own achievements and talents, which is why we want to encourage self-nominations too. Many of our previous finalists and winners nominated themselves to win the awards.

Jod Beard, the winner of the 2023 PA of the Year award, was just one of many talented Assistants who nominated themselves. We asked Jody what advice she had for those of you toying with the idea of nominating yourselves for this year's Awards:

“My advice is do it! What have you got to lose? Nominating myself for an award felt like stepping outside my comfort zone but after reading the encouraging words from last year's winner, who said ‘just go for it’, I thought, ‘why not?’.”
